Just booked my first carnival experience. I sailed with royal last year and had a blast. This time around royal wasnt going anywhere I wanted to go so after doing some looking around I landed on the carnival Mardi Gras sailing to grand Turk amber cove and Nassau in January. Just wondering for those that I have sailed with royal and carnival how are the experiences better/worse with each? Also for anyone that’s been on Mardi Gras how is the overall experience on the ship for a 7 night cruise. I’ve seen lots of positive and negative reviews of carnival but decided to put the bias aside and experience it for myself to make that judgement. But would like to hear some incite between the two lines. Thank you in advance.
We have sailed both. Carnival is called “The fun ship” for a reason. There is a lot of entertainment and we feel the main stage broadway style shows are top notch. We can’t say anything bad about Royal though. As far as your ports, Grand Turk was a huge disappointment for us. There is not much to do in Nassau either. Never been to Amber Cove. You will have a great time either way, cruising is so fun. Enjoy
