Cruising to Alaska. Which port is better, Seattle or San Francisco?

Post Body

Just wanted to get everyone's input (especially if you've cruised coming from Seattle or SFO before). Iā€™m flying from LAX and both are about an hour of flight time away. Which one is better for you?

I know I would have to make the final decision but I would like to hear kind comments please. The cabin is cheap because it's a casino rate (I don't play but I let someone play my card on my last sailing and I've since gotten offers). It's for an Ocean View room and it will be for me and my spouse. Thank you everyone!

I found a 7 day cruise Seattle to Alaska for $957.40 It has less stops and Day 7 shows Victoria from 8PM to 11:59PM, is there anything to see at that time? I would love to go around Seattle before or after the cruise so maybe this could be a better option for me.

vs. a 10 day cruise San Francisco to Alaska for $1,093.76All stops are day to night which would give me time to go around each location. This is the better deal money wise because it's just a little over $100 more for 10 days vs. 7 days going to Seattle ($957.40). However, I just don't know if this is too much time on a ship for me. Is Sitka (Day7) and Prince Rupert, BC (Day8) a good place to see?
