I’m thinking of building up a big dummy and I’d really like to use and igh. I know the rohloff is the gold standard but it’s really not in my budget. I’ve been researching igh’s and I keep reading that none other than the rohloff are heavy duty enough for a cargo bike. But then I’ve seen a few ecargo bikes with various igh’s. Is there a model that is rated for cargo bikes or ecargo bikes and can have low enough gearing for a heavy load? I live in a very hilly area as well so lots of climbing in my daily commute which this bike will also be used for as well. I’m car free and using my salsa Fargo but I’d like to be able to carry my six year old and cargo. Hence the cargo bike.
