What does your daily routine look like as a caregiver?
Post Body

My (38F) mom (67F) was diagnosed with cancer in the beginning of June. My sister (32F) has cerebral palsy and came to live with me because my mom just wasn't able to care for her anymore. It's been very challenging, to say the least. I have been working on getting her into a day program for adults with developmental disabilities. That way I can work during the day (nurse at a clinic). I'm also a single mom. My daughter starts high school next week. I was taking afternoons off to take care of my sister, but my boss put a stop to that and I had to figure it out. I will hopefully hear something from the day program this week on when she can start. My new routine is not going to be fun. I'm not sure when I will have downtime for myself. I will have to grocery shop on the weekends. I will sort it out as it comes I guess!

So - here's what my new routine will look like:

Get up significantly earlier than usual to get my sister up - make sure my daughter is up and getting ready for school - I will get my sister and myself ready for the day - take my daughter to school - take my sister to day program - go to work...........work ends at 4:30 pm - hoping to have my sister dropped off via bus at my house and hopefully one of my aunts will watch her until I get off work - my daughter gets out at 3:15 pm - she will get a ride home - I will go home after work - make dinner - feed my sister - get her ready for and into bed - get myself ready for and into bed - and start all over the next day

I'm just wondering what your day looks like as a caregiver???
