retraining in hands-on trades
Post Body

Hello guys,

I was wondering if you can help. I have a degree in life sciences and worked in a few minor temp lab roles since graduating. I really do not enjoy the lab and have altogether lost interest.

I always wanted to learn a hands-on trade such as carpentry, electrician, gas engineer, plumbing etc but my parents wanted me to go uni.

Am i too old (21) to retrain in these type of fields and is it too hard to make the change?

Whenever I see the training for these hands-on training its mainly for school leavers age (16) and apprenticeships. Is there no way I can learn on the job and get paid or learn free?

Thanks for your help, extremely grateful.
