Just a lil background on me;
I am 24 year old guy from Southern California. I’ve been in sales since I was 22 years old a month just before my 23rd birthday. My goal in life is to start a business.
My whole life I never imagined myself to be in sales when everyday I was selling myself to everyone. I didn’t even know I was but its a fact. From the ages of 18-22 I was lost in life as far jobs goes but I had goals in life. I was working dead jobs from fast foods to warehouse. My last job before sales was for Amazon.
When I was 18 just before my high school graduation my dad told me to join sales because he knew I wasn’t gonna go to college. Why? Because my dad has been in sales for 30 years. I told him no. I said no because I never saw myself as a salesman. Like come on, sales??? No. No way…. As years gone by my dad kept insisting me to join. I just kept telling him no. My dad has worked in the car industry but now he’s retired. He’s been making six figures for many years.
A couple of months just before joining sales. My father showed me his last three years of YTD. I was blown away. He was making 6 figures easily. My father isn’t no doctor or college grad himself. I am not even sure he even graduated high school haha. After seeing those , I told myself what am I doing with my life.
However, i didnt join right away because I was nervous and scared that I would be a failure…
Well, I took the step because I had nothing to lose. Little did I know joining sales was the best thing I ever did in my life… I am proud of my self so much because NO ONE even my family thought i wasnt going to last even my dad didn’t think I was.
I made my first six figure income my first year in sales selling Volkswagens. I left for a better brand, i now sell Lexus. I am killing it here. Im on track to make 6 figures. Im average about 10k-14k a month before taxes.
However, it’s not the income that made me a better person. It made me realize doing the things that scares me the most in life has its rewards.
I plan on starting my business in a few years or if not I will join tech sales (B2B sales) or real estate after two years In car sales. I don’t plan on selling cars my whole life. We should see..
I realized being lost in life is so close to being found. Do what makes you scared!
