I just financed a car yesterday. Updated my driver only policy to add the new vehicle at full coverage. I opted in for Loan/lease payoff but shortly after the dealership offered me gap insurance. Opted in for that as well with the intention to sort through what each entails.
My concerns: - gap seems like the better option because it’s all upfront and financed with the car. I’m ok with this. Maybe. - I have Progressive and my insurance rate understandably skyrocketed. I’d like to save there if I can. I’m like 6 years into working with progressive but I think it’s time to shop around anyway. The only saving grace is that I also qualified for large accident forgiveness.
So should I keep both gap and L/L payoff, cut L/L payoff, or ditch progressive altogether?
