I was in an accident where my truck was totalled. I have comprehensive insurance w Allstate. They issued me a settlement offer. Just wondering, should I refuse it and ask for more? Has anyone ever tried this? Or do I just take the money. In other words, I would not be surprised if I found out that ins companies always offer say, 15% less than the actual valuation, just to see if it's accepted. If it is, they just saved themselves some money. But, per protocol, if the insured declines, the second offer would be the amount of the actual valuation. Something like that. I ask because I do feel that my valuation was a little on the low side. Please share your actual experiences with me in this regard. Thanks
