First track day, felt like a nuisance to high-hp vehicles
Post Body

Hello all,

I recently attended my first track day, which was a novice paced laps HPDE.

I've always wanted to track my car (2009 Honda Accord V6 Coupe), so I've slowly acquired the necessary parts to be able to: lightweight wheels, performance tires, track pads, and high temp fluid.

I honestly had a blast! and I know the car has so much more potential in it.

My only concern is that the majority of other cars at this beginner's day were Porsches and Corvettes. Even though I was able to hang with these cars in the corners due to it being a beginner's day, there's no replacement for their braking abilities and power. Even though I was enjoying myself and the car on track, I constantly felt out of place and in the way, since I was surrounded by $70k performance cars.

For people in a similar situation to mine, how do you deal with trying to drive along side such performance vehicles in ones not as capable? I want to attend an intermediate day, but feel like I will be even more of a nuisance to the other high-hp cars on track.

Edit: Thank you to everyone for the helpful and encouraging advice, greatly appreciated!
