Is 55 bhp too slow?

Looking for my first car, and have found a bit of a gem (kind of). 52 plate polo, 32k miles, 1 year MOT, serviced every year from VW dealer for 900 quid.
The only downside is that is only 55 bhp. This would be fine for city stuff, but i don't really plan on doing much city driving. It'll be mainly for motorways when going back down south, and on the Scottish A and B roads.
Will this be too slow?
