Opinions on this as a first car

Hi all,
I'm currently looking at a 2011 ford focus 1.6 zetec with 83,000 on the clock - price is around £5k, with 8 service stamps.
What should I be looking for in its service and MOT history? Would this be alright for a first car? I'd prefer this size over a fiesta as I plan to mainly use it for weekend trips away (most weekends)
