dpf deleted or just dust

Afternoon guys,
had someone on facebook tell me to check the inside of my exhaust for soot as to an indication on whether or not my dpf is present. i dont exactly know if any ways to check if the dpf is there other than having it lifted and looking under the actual car.
inside of the exhaust seems to be caked with a black substance not sure what it is looks like dust imo.
