Looking for some advice.

Joined A1(m) earlier, didn’t take notice of maps asking me to take diversion as it’s a familiar route. There were some roadworks leading up to junction (40 limit etc.) but nothing to stop you going through.

A couple other cars went through as well but when I pulled up I double checked.

Between the 2 junctions was closed 2000-0600 between J48 and J49. I passed through at 2015 ish.

Only signs once on motorway was an “end” once I got to the end of the closure, no other cameras or anything like that..

Are there any penalties etc for this? As I said there was nothing obvious to stop you going through and a couple others did the same.
