I just bought a gem of a car. Laugh if you want, but I am so pleased with how lucky I just got.
I am the second owner of this 1994 Plymouth Voyager. My buddy's dad sold it to me for $1k. It has just over 100k miles on it. Everything inside looks brand new. (No smokers in here.) There are a few minor things to be fixed, but it all seems like something I can do myself.
That being said - this would be my first car to maintain on my own since I was a kid living with my mechanic grandpa. I'm rusty.
I want to gullwing the side door because it's been broken for the last 15 years and I think it would be a fun way to fix it.
I have questions about whether I should sand and clear coat, vinyl wrap, or take it somewhere to be professionally painted. (Never considered doing this to a car, so I just would like opinions about what you think is healthiest for the car and what might be a good introduction to refinishing cars)
This car was loved and I'm considering saving up to replace the engine and transmission when it comes time. I would be changing the current automatic transmission to a manual transmission. What are your thoughts on that? Am I delusional? I don't know. I can't tell you how proud I am to own a car 5 years younger than me. Feel free to roast me, I'm thick skinned.
