Not getting alert on CarPlay screen that I have received a text message.

Just started happening to me the Day I set up a brand new watch for myself. If I’m plugged into CarPlay and receive a text message it won’t alert me with a pop up on the screen anymore like it used to it just tells me when I look at my Lock Screen on my iPhone. Does this have to do with my new watch ? My watch does not even give me a alert about the message once I’m plugged into car play ? Any idea what I can do to get my alerts back to popping up on the car screen ?
