Change Engine Oil a month after oil was changed
Post Body

Hi there, just looking for some guidance. As my title indicates I had my oil changed roughly a month ago (2015 ford edge), mechanic put the fancy sticker indicating the next mileage it should be changed by and even commented that it was due. Yesterday, my change Engine Oil light came on but I figured maybe he didn't reset the computer. Today I checked and indeed the level is low. What could be a possible cause for this? Should I add some oil today before heading to the mechanic tomorrow to be able to drive around? Could this be the type of oil that's the problem (synth vs conventional) I appreciate any help or guidance.

Edit/update: after adding a half quart last night, I went to the mechanic who took about 10 minutes to check the oil level and a couple things and told me I'm fine. He reset the counter and said I'm good to go. Obviously I'll be checking the oil regularly. I have an appointment at my dealer at the end of the month, so I'll get them to check and be sure everything is fine. It seems there's no issue.... strange
