2004 GMC Envoy Radio installation question

Post Body

Hello everyone! I'm new to this kind of space and I need some guidance. I have a 2004 GMC envoy. Still in good condition minus the radio. When I bought it from my aunt and uncle they told me that the radio had been busted for a while. The speakers work fine though.

But I recently bought myself a radio for a replacement and when I went to a garage to see about installing it he said it would cost $430 to install my radio with the chance it wouldn't work since I bought the radio. Or $530 if I bought one of his radios instead.

He priced it like this... $190 for Bose part ( One I assume that would make it compatible with newer radios ) $40 for various parts $200 for labor

Does this sound round to you guys? I don't want to be taken for a ride. Thanks for your help in advance.
