JVC deck not "compatible" with new iPhones

I've got a JVC KD-T915BTS deck that I've been using the last two years with a 1st Gen iPhone SE. I (finally) upgraded to the 3rd Gen iPhone SE and I'm getting a cackling noise in the audio from both USB and BlueTooth. I cannot figure out how or why both the USB and BT would both give this issue, but it is what it is. I checked with JVC and they said the newer iPhones are not compatible.
Is there anything I can do to make this work?
