I have the same speakers in my car that they came with never changed them and they work great no problems but i was wondering if i bought new speakers for my car how much of a difference will they make how much louder can i get them? I have an older highlander with 2 12inch subs and just wanna know if i got new door speakers will it make a huge difference that will help with the sound quality and loudness? I also was wondering if i got a new system/radio would it help with the connection to my phone because sometimes the static you can hear in the back of my music gets kinda annoying how or what do i do to get rid of that. I have one of the simple plug in bluetooth connections and want possibly better.
If you don't upgrade the radio and add an amplifier for the new speakers, it might actually sound worse.
The reason is because the vehicle manufacturer installs a radio and speakers that are correctly tuned to each other, one cannot overpower the other. The speakers might be a different ohm load, or the radio might have an automatic EQ adjuster depending on volume, for example it turns down the bass as your turn up the volume to prevent them from being damaged.
Adding just a radio and speakers won't do well either, but might be somewhat acceptable. But your current stock setup probably will sound better.
Now to drive the point home, a properly tuned amplifier and half decent aftermarket speakers will absolutely SMOKE your stock setup, it's not even close. You will be amazed.
You can do all of this for around $300 total on the low end if you install it yourself.
