Post Body

in advance sorry for the long text, i have absolutely zero knowledge in this and i’m stating what i think makes sense. For background, i have an aftermarket headunjt stating 19rms/50watt peak x 4ch. i bought speakers to replace the factory since they can’t handle slightly above average listening sound. I have a 93 mazda mx6 btw if that’s important. factory speakers up front put out nice lows on average volume, rear speakers had no low end at all. new speakers are rated for 250watts/40rms per speaker. the rears now sounds much louder than the new speakers up front. why is that? when i try to push it to semi loud, speakers start to sound distorted. is that due to my headunit under powering the speakers? or is 19rms good to power 40rms speakers?
