Let me start by saying I am by no means a "audio guy". I know basic things like wiring speakers and aftermarket head units but that's about it. So about 2 months into ownership of my 2001 NB2 Miata the speakers that once worked fantastic decided to just never play anything again. This was shortly after jumping the car because the battery died. So I started with what I knew and took the aftermarket jvc kw-r800bt out and saw a lovely rat nest of wires from the previous owner :D. So after doing some digging I found that he installed a cheap $20 special oea 4a amp from scosche. I'm assuming this means he somehow bypassed the stock bose amp that comes with the Bose speakers. All the wiring is correct and still nothing. Radio turns on, connects through Bluetooth to my phone, shows what song should be playing but no sound whatsoever even if I adjust the fader. So I took the door cards off and tested all the speakers and tweeters with the old 9v battery trick and they all work. Maybe a short in the speaker wire somewhere? Any ideas?
