Newbie needing help

Hey all! I just started a couple days ago and have been playing this game heavily as a F2P player! Im really enjoying it so far! 😊
I have kinda hit a snag and a lil lost as to what i should do to gain power and progress. I have opened a few of the S event chests and have gained a few purple items from them.
If anyone can kinda help me or guide me on how i should be progressing or using gems or anything, i would greatly appreciate it 😊
