Star Trek Replicators
Post Body

Consider this hypothetical scenario:

A company has come up with a star trek-esque replicator which converts energy from Dilithium into any object from food to parts for a starship. The invention has the potential to tank the manufacturing industries, the food industry among others and tank the world economy.

Would you, as the government allow this corporation to operate freely? If not, what restrictions would you impose?

Edit: Even if you buy the machine, you'll have to pay for the Dilithium, which is a limited resource.
