So I've been debating with a bunch of people online and there seems to be a common train of thought among young leftists that Socialism is a moral concept and that none of them even want communism so it should all be fine. Some 19 year old even told me off by saying
"All we want is for everyone to be equal! Socialism is the equality of all! We're not advocating for Communism! Learn the difference! Boomer!"
Now I'm only 31 so that boomer bit stung a little. But do they not understand that Communism is, in essence, the better form of Socialism. Communism is the utopian state. All that shit they keep on saying they want society to have is found in Communism, not Socialism. They talk about shorter working hours, being able to live off doing what you love, everyone's needs are taken cared off. That doesn't exist in Socialism. Heck, social saftey nets don't exist in socialism! Socialism is "He who does not work, does not eat."
The greatest issue with Communism is that you have to go through Socialism to get there where the dream of your utopian society along with it's people go to inevitably die! Am I wrong? Did the philosophies behind these ideas suddenly change?
