Can red tomatoes be substituted for yellow tomatoes in canning recipes?

I’ve read that it’s okay to do so but I’ve also read that the acidity is different in yellow tomatoes so I wanted to double check.

Edit: the title isn’t clear, I’m wondering if yellow can be used instead of red tomatoes.
