To summarize: my mom is stage four and needing radiation since the cancer has spread to the spine. She has an IV morphine and can’t walk on her own due to loss of mobility. My mother has her own bed she’s stuck on bed rest with and my father has a pull out bed/convertible couch thing in her hospital room. They also have a private shower and bath thankfully in the room that nurses can use to help clean her and has a mobile commode (think that’s what it’s called).
She’s been in the hospital before, but this is a scheduled stay for the next week minimum due to the mobility issues and her needing five more treatments.
I was wondering if anyone else has any recommendations on how to make this next week easier for them? I’m a three hours drive each way where I can’t visit daily, but I have a sister in the area who I can mail things to. I just want her to know I’m there for her and would appreciate some advice such as things to make her back hurt less and make it a more comfortable stay for my father or help him keep busy.
Thank you in advance ❤️
