Hi everyone I recently transferred from questrade to National Bank brokerage.

In questrade I used to buy USD securities in my TFSA and RRSP account (without doing the norbert gambit method) and my CAD would automatically be converted to USD.

I recently transferred cash to my national bank brokerage CAD TFSA account. I purchased a USD security in my CAD TFSA however the shares are still in my CAD TFSA account. Does it automatically get converted to my USD TFSA account? Or would I have to email them to transfer it?

Questrade was simple in terms of when you buy a USD security the money automatically gets converted in your registered accounts. Thank you!
