Searching boxes
Post Body

I've pulled a lot of interesting coins out of circulation by getting the small banks in town to get me a box of dimes, nickels, quarters etc and just going through them continuously looking for little treasures or interesting strikes. I thought if I take a couple photos of those and post them once in a while - it can't do any harm. Probably been searching boxes for 20 ish years.

The six 20's (and 1930) nickles are a small sample of the hundred or so I've found box hunting. Best nickel I ever found in a box is a 1926 vg8 scratched. I've found quite a few silver coins in boxes, maybe one in every two boxes of quarters. Silver dimes are more common. The one cent piece ... well if you know you know and there are no more boxes of cents to search.
