Hello, Previously under Sun Life to be able to claim Psychotherapy it needed to be under the supervision of a Psychologist (the supervisor listed on the receipt). There was never any indication of this that I could find in the benefits outline (it just showed Psychotherapy falls under the coverage bucket of Psychologist Services), but was confirmed this over the phone by Sun Life.
Is this still the case with Canada Life? Tried calling them earlier only for an automated message to disconnect me because they’re too busy, no one picks up chat support requests…
Main reason I ask is my and my daughter’s psychotherapist advised us today that their supervising psychologist passed away, so for the time being appointments wouldn’t be supervised and fall under what would previously be covered. When checking the Canada Life benefits it again shows Psychotherapy is covered under Psychologist Services, but no details beyond how much is covered.
