Can I buy a game I’ve redeemed through PS Plus Collection?

I’d like to redeem the free PS Plus Collection but I rarely subscribe to PS Plus. I remember a few years ago I redeemed Detroit Become Human, and I liked it and decided to buy it. When I tried to purchase the game, the system wouldn’t allow me since I redeemed it through PS . I had to call in to be able to purchase the games.
I prefer owning games as I am not tied to a subscription. I have not redeemed any of the games yet. If I redeem games via PS Plus, will I be able to purchase them after the fact?
