I have oily skin, and while it doesn't get that oily during the day, the oil production at night is extreme. I didn't care so much about this before, but I'm starting to contemplate eventually spending the night with a new person, and half the time I wake up quite terrifying looking (especially because I have bangs). How can I decrease oil production? Are BHA and niacinamide (sp?) the keys? But then exactly how do you recommend using them to get enough to have results without getting stressed out skin? I used to have a facewash with salicylic acid and a sunscreen with niacinamide and I don't think that was enough. Also of course always looking to shrink pores and filaments more although I've made progress there. And fellow sufferers, do you have recommendations for a nighttime moisturizer?
I currently wash with The Ordinary's squalene cleanser, which is working well although I think it's giving me some closed comedones on my forehead. Use azelaic acid during the day. Use LRP's effeclar mat moisturizer during the day. Trying different moisturizers at night, haven't found one I like. Sometimes I use ROC's retinoids at night. Sunscreens I use Murad around my eyes and Unseen Sunscreen on the rest of my face. I also live in a place where winters are damp, so super dry skin in the winter isn't that much of a thing here.
