Post Body

I've just purchased a 2020 SE with 24k miles. I was pressed to get a car replacement for my Ford Escape that was about to drain our equity we had in it as we neared 100k. The ecoboost motors all crap out. We are a one car couple as I work at home.......The Camry is certified and we have 5/50k bumper to bumper. great trade in price on the ford.

That said, I've learned a lot since buying this beautiful car. There is soot at the tailpipe. It's had 10k oil changes. I will change every 5k moving forward. It also has a vibration at around 70 mph. It's subtle.

My concerns are Burning Oil. If a cylinder is marred and letting oil through, this could point to the soot. Then the compression will be off/unbalanced leading to vibration. I want to ask for a compression test and consumption test.

Question is, How do I convince them to do these tests? They will not want to do them, telling me the car is fine. If there is a marked cylinder, this will only get worse over time, even with 5k oil changes.

These tests will show if my concerns are real but there will be a fight about doing them. What do I say to convince them?
