Hey all. I'm taking a last-minute-arranged road trip through southern Utah and I'd love to do all the famous stuff around any of the Big 5 in Utah (I live in the Midwest so getting out there isn't easy).

I realize that permits for camping and backpacking are long gone. Will it be worth just driving up day of, hoping for the best, and just find some dispersed camping nearby (looking over the maps it seems like Capitol Reef has the most BLM/NF land nearby but would love to try for Zion). Any advice is appreciated.
