I live in the south. we put it on cereal.
Maybe you haven't seen other photos from down here, but yes, there is. People were jut abandoning their cars on the road. Black ice everywhere.
People are giving us crap, but we (collectively) seriously have no idea what to do. We don't have plows or salt, etc. Entire cities shut down.
Don't blame the lack of plow trucks, you can get by just fine without them.
You obviously know what you're talking about considering you're family is from Michigan, but the thing is this - These people in AL are losing their minds. One guy in Birmingham had a heart attack and died in his car on the road. You may be correct in say "the roads are just fine", but this is all perspective. These are people that cancel school Because. It's Cold.
I don't understand why northerners can't understand. It's like people in the Philippines telling New Orleans, "Seriously? Just get in a boat." It's insensitive and insulting.
This is probably the dumbest thing on the internet that I've read.
Are you seriously say that you are trapped up north because your "forebearers" (not a word) settled there? And, somehow this gives you permission to "talk shit" to people that live somewhere else? Nobody in the US is lucky or unlucky in consideration of where they live. This is the US... you know you can just go somewhere else, right?
I'm not saying you can just go somewhere else as in, "Move because you're not welcome here" - I'm simply saying that you, a human citizen of the US can literally move your house, family, dog, abode.... wherever you so choose to in the country.
Ha! It's really rough down here. We don't have trucks or plows and there's black ice everywhere. It looks like the walking dead out here.

I used hiking pokes, but didn't use them "seriously". I was just out having fun. The gas station people laughed. It was a good time.
