Most of my friends are married with kids now, and I''m looking for people to do some more adventurous travel with. I have a lot of airline points so trying to knock off some international trips, but also open to some good US locations.
International goals: norway, iceland, patagonia, nepal
Generally like backpacking somewhat moderate trails, like 2-7 night range, but some flexibility if it's an awesome range. Nothing too terribly sketchy or insane just yet. I do go with "ultralight" type mentality, though it's more just to make things easier than to do massive miles.
I'm early 40s but reasonably in shape. Looking to ramp up more hiking/backpacking stamina for bigger trips. As one data point I did hike the TMB (~100 miles) solo last year and did fine, but it's obviously not that tough of a trail.
I've done a bunch of solo travel, but am getting burned out of it, and also kind of want to add a safety factor for bigger trips.
Anyone interested? Or know some good groups to meet people in particular for international travel? I dislike the tour groups that want to charge $3000 for a trip that you could do for virtually free backpacking yourself.
