tldr: $900 tent with hardly any reviews ripped, looking for advice on understanding materials and if upgrading to the next model is worth it. Also would love to hear experience with KingCamp in general.
So I ordered KingCamp Khan Glamping Bell Tent 16.4ft after watching LoneWolf902 test out the KingCamp 4-Season Khan Canvas Tent Hot Tent-13ft/16.4ft. I realize I went with the cheaper one but I thought it would be relatively the same. Once it got here (shipping box was all jacked up) I was trying to unbox and the dang straps to the carrying bag started ripping! After the second rip I just left it in the middle of my living room scared to touch anything else for fear of doing more damage. After looking again at the product details I see the bag is made out of the same materials as the carry bag so I'm definitely not going to waste my time setting up the tent. $900 is just too much money to have holes.
Looking at both product pages I'm seeing that these are made of different materials but I cant understand exactly what they mean? The one that ripped says "100% Cotton 285/㎡" and the more expensive one says "340G T/C" I'd like to better understand the differences between these fabrics and if the second more expensive option may be worth the exchange. Also, I'm interested to know anyone else's experience with these products or this company in general. I don't want to give up on the company because they really are beautiful products but this is a huge financial investment for me and I'd like to be as informed as possible. Any and all advice welcome! Thank you for reading!
