Lucas sat at SJ’s desk inside the Praetor’s office. His feet were kicked up on the desk and he had a large smile on his face. How many years had he planned this attack. Now he was having his revenge. There was a knock on the door.

Enter.

Into the office walked Brandon and Johnny flanked by other Children of New Rome, Demigods from the outside.

Master Lucas, the main force of the Legion is now out of the camp. They have set up a base camp in the Field of Mars. Those who stayed in the Camp have either been captured or taken care off.

Brandon’s smooth voice brought a smile to Lucas’s face. He knew that those little heroes wouldn’t have been able to resist running out to save the day. And using his secret weapon of Melinda and his knowledge of the camp their escape was only too easy once the fighting broke out.

Good, have the men fire periodic ballista into New Rome. I don’t want the city completely leveled but I also want to make sure that they don’t get a good night sleep in the Camp. We may have the advantage of the walls of the camp protecting us but they still have us outnumber until our guests arrive. We wouldn’t want any of them getting any ideas. Double the perimeter walls. If anything within fifty yards moves...kill it. That being said I doubt they will try anything till morning. They need to regroup before they try and take Camp Jupiter back. And they will try. And when they do...that is when we will crush them.

Orders received the Children of New Rome leave Lucas to his manic laughter.

After day one of the Battle of Camp Jupiter this is the situation.

• A large part of New Rome was bombed and burned

• Lucas, Brandon and Johnny have all escaped

• With the help of a somehow resurrected Melinda Camp Jupiter has been captured and is now being held by the forces of the Children of New Rome. We do not know how many they have in their numbers.

• The Legion of Camp Jupiter has set up a base camp in the Field of Mars where we have a field tent for the wounded, a tent for the refugees and a command tent
