Like many here it seems I’m going through a hard time in my life and believe this will be a helpful experience for me.
I get into Madrid on the 11th, will take a day there then take the train to Leon.
Packing, I don’t own any hiking pants. I ordered some on Amazon but is the weather still warm enough to wear shorts and bring a jacket? Any recommendations just for clothes for traveling this part of October? My research shows this should take about two weeks.
I also have the same model of walking shoe I’ve been wearing for years ( new balance more - I just keep buying new ones when old wear out). I plan to use those for the trip as long as I’ll be on mostly paved roads which it seems to be the case starting at Leon. Could someone verify this? There is a trail version of the shoe I could try as well.
I’ll be on the Frances route (I think that’s the only one that goes through Leon, Spain).
Edit: ordered some trail shoes and quick dry pants! Thanks for the advice.
