Hello!

I'm not an avid photographer, but I have always loved the feel and immediacy of point and shoot camera. I've had one since the first ever Sony cyber shot.

So aside from the background I own a Canon G9X MK II that in a hiking trip regrettably got wet and it no longer turns on just has a flashing light.

I live in Japan and took it to the canon repair shop and they quoted me 60k yen for the repair which seemed insane. Then I look at the prices of this camera and they are selling for 70k on the used market.

So that brings me to my consideration. Should I sell it as junk and get something new? I would love to spend no more than 500 USD for a camera. However it would have to better than my 10 year old camera otherwise it might just be worth it to repair it maybe?

Any advice?
