Hey yall!
Just looking for some portable digital camera recommendations. - price range is anything under $400 - I do a lot of stuff in nature, specifically hikes (rainforests and waterfalls etc) - something that takes somewhat decent photos at parties/nighttime, doesn’t have to be super high quality or anything just something that would look alright on the Instagram/facebook feed (for the girls yknow) - something that produces photos with decent ‘retro’ vibes, orangey/yellow/blue tones are fine, or photos that can have a filter thrown over the top to give the same effect - I’m not super picky or pedantic about high definition quality, just something that I would be able to show people and they can make it out and get the vibe. - this will be an introductory camera so I’m not looking to spend exorbitant amounts of money, I’m also a broke student so my price range is limited - preferably a little reliable, just because it will be a pocket/backpack camera that will get taken everywhere with me.
- why can’t I just use my phone? Great question, my partner and I want to make an SD card collection of all of our trips and memories that can be easily stored in a small box, my phone storage is absolutely full to the brim with photos most of the time and every few years when I upgrade my phone I usually lose a bunch of photos that I’ve taken (I use my phones till they die lmao) I’m also not incredibly tech savvy so I’m not a massive fan of storing things on laptops or transferring photos from old phones to new. Also I just like the idea of a digital camera, our parents gen had physical printed photos and I feel like our version could be a little box of SD cards that we can take with us from place to place, and I don’t have to worry about our memories from the last 4 years being lost if I drop my phone in a waterfall haha
I have been looking at the Kodak pixpro fz55 and fz45 but have been skeptical about reviews and problems people have had with them, and I don’t wanna just buy something because tiktok says so, but also they seem like okay introductory portable point and shoot cameras that I could upgrade in a few years time, but I wanted to know Reddit’s thoughts. Any example photos are greatly appreciated too :))
Thankyou in advance!
