Post Body

I have about $1400 to spend if I do this.

I use my phone a bunch for basic photos, it's not going away. I have a Canon SX740 and I use the zoom all the way to the end of the 970mm equivalent. I like that it fits in my pocket so it's staying around. It works for the photos I take with it.

For this new camera I sometimes do paid portraits, weddings and such inside so need fast focus and fast shooting. Going to Europe next summer and this new camera would get lots of use inside there. My goal is something that aims towards looking pro and has a wide to short zoom, around a 18-50 35 equivalent in a f/2.8. Want a standard hot shoe mount for sure.

It's replacing a Nikon D7200 because 1. it's heavy; 2. big SLRs make you stand out more day to day; and 3. I broke most of the lenses I liked using with it. I like this camera but it's time to retire it. I considered buying a lens for it but I want to downscale to something lighter in general, that packs in less space.

What would you recommend?
