Hey everyone, I'm sharing this list of California public lands for you to plan your future hunts. It covers 200 CA state and federal lands, including wildlife areas, national forests, ecological reserves that allow hunting, and some sizable BLM tracts. It has info on:
- link to the government webpage for that area
- species you can find there
- county & region
- required permits
- acreage
- camping allowed
- bikes allowed
- quail and deer zones
- other prohibitions like types of firearm or species not allowed
- general notes on habitat, special hunts, dates, etc.
There are also tabs that aggregate the top California counties for harvest of various species as well as some info on deer zone harvests.
Please note this is all info I pulled together from various web sources, some governmental & some private. If I got something wrong or you have something to add, you can send me a PM or reply here with a source, and I can update it, but I don't plan to monitor this like it's a job. Verify for yourselves before going out into the field.
I hope you all find it as useful as I have in creating it. If you do, feel free to PM me for methods of contributing to my "new shotgun fund."
Happy hunting!
Steve
