Has Amazon updated how they do DRM or something? Weird issue with a specific book I purchased recently, in conjunction with Moon+ Reader.

Apologies if this is not specifically a Calibre issue. It's probably not, so mods feel free to remove this if it's not fit for the subreddit.

I recently purchased a book called "Ms. Never" from Amazon. Normally I just dump my books into Calibre, strip the DRM automatically with Apprentice Alf's DeDRM tools, and go along my merry way, sideloading. I'm currently still using Calibre 4.23 until the DeDRM plugin is out of beta for the 5.x version.

I have a Kindle and a Boox Nova 2 eReader. I normally read in Moon Reader Pro on the Nova 2, unless I'm traveling. I guess that's background enough. Now for the issue I'm having:

This book starts out with a sequence that's in all italics. You can see it in the Amazon blurb on the site. It renders correctly on the Kindle, and on Neo Reader on the Boox Nova, but in Moon Reader, the italic text is not there, it's in regular text format. I don't think there's an issue with Moon Reader, as I just finished several books that had no issues with bold, italic, and even subtext formatting.

Is it possible this is an AZW3 issue? I used Calibre to convert the file to EPUB and it actually renders as it should now, but the AZW3 file didn't render correctly. I've never encountered this with other books in AZW3 format though.
