Hello beautiful Calgarians! I am an international student and been in Calgary for around 1 year the same time for Canada as well. I am currently suffering from sever mouth ulcers and complete sore throat. My whole lips are swollen and bleeding and i cant speak due to my throat. My tongue has ulcers as well so i cant eat as well. So i decided to go to doctor as i couldn’t take it anymore and needed help. I went to a medical clinic near me and I was in the lineup for around 2 hours. It doesnt bother me as it was a civic holiday and I get people need to see doc. But when my turn came the doctor saw me and my ulcers. Under 2 mins he just prescribed medicine and let me go away. I am a nurse not here but in my home country and I was surprised that he didnt even bothered to look what is happening to me. In my entire 24 years of life I have never had symptoms like that he just prescribed antibiotics and told me its normal ulcer. Normal ulcers stays for 2 days max my ulcers have been for 1 week now and i bleed whenever i try to chew. I am so disheartened from this and can’t believe this happens in clinic. So my question to yall is - is this really normal behavior by doctors here? Should i visit a specific clinic or hospital for stuff like this? I genuinely dont have any idea how to proceed with this and its getting worse each day. Any help would be appreciated Thanks for reading it :D
