Last week I went to the Brentwood BMO after an appointment. The line up inside was long so I decided to use the ATM and deposited $1000 in cash. The machines no longer require you to put the money into an envelope so I just put the bills in a nice stack and put it into the machine. I watched as the machine started to count the money. On the screen it got up to $940 and then it stopped and just did the hour glass type thing where it was waiting .... and waiting ... and waiting .... and finally it said "transaction cancelled" and it gave me my card back. But no money or receipt!
I was dumbfounded.
The machine then flashed "temporarily out of service" but then went back to the menu screen.
I stood in line and waited and spoke with one of the tellers and she looked in my account and to my dismay there was no record of a deposit at all. She said she would need to put a service request in and it could be a week or two before I heard back.
It has been a week and I haven't heard. I am getting pretty anxious. $1000 is a lot of money to my husband and I, especially at this time as he has been really sick this year. I am just wondering, what are the chances that I am going to see that money again? Has this ever happened to anybody else?
