Mod suggestions for a first timer?

My friends and I are about to play the calamity mod for the first time. We have just recently beaten expert mode in vanilla. Any suggestions on what mods to add along with calamity? We’d also rather not use mods that are kinda like cheats. But QOL mods are than welcome. Also what class would be the best? I played summoner in my first playthrough.
