Online class how does it work?

Im a new transfer student from mt.sac starting this upcoming semester. I enrolled in Bio 1110 but it is an online class. I have never taken an online class before so i was wondering what I had to do in order to prepare for this course and what to do on the first day of class? do i get an email or how does it work?
