Should I go to Cuesta in hopes of being accepted at Cal Poly SLO?

Post Body

I recently visited my friend who is a first year at Cal Poly SLO and after further research, I fell in love with the school and really hope to transfer here after 2 years. I am a first year in community college in the bay area. I plan on doing well in school, likely straight As all around, except for one B I'll probably get in the chem course I am in right now. I have already used assist.com to add all of the necessary courses to my timeline and I'll be done with my 60 credits by Spring 2024. I have heard that SLO locals get a priority when it comes to being accepted into Cal Poly, which I feel like I could really use. So my question is, would it be worth it to take my 2nd year of community college at Cuesta College? Is 1 year as a local even enough to get me in? I plan to be a business major, somewhere in the 3.6-3.9 range (hopefully closer to 3.9). I've also heard first gens and underserved/ low income students are more likely to get in-- which I happen to be both. I would really appreciate some help from people who might have gone to Cuesta and transferred to Cal Poly, or anyone who knows anything about admissions! Any tips would also be appreciated :)
