I want to quickly share about an event starting tomorrow, Friday Nov 4th at 4:00 PM! Startup Launch Weekend is our biggest and most exciting event of the year at Cal Poly Entrepreneurs. I competed last year and it helped me begin my entrepreneurship journey here at Cal Poly. Now, as the President of the club, I am excited and fulfilled at the ability to give back and create a similar experience for this year's competitors.
Here's how I would describe the event:
Have you ever heard of a Hackathon? What we do is essentially the same thing, but just building a business. Competitors will have the weekend to go from a seed of a business idea to pitching to a panel of judges for the chance at over $2,000 of winnings and the opportunity to be funneled directly into the network of support here at Cal Poly.
If you have a business idea, that's great! You'll have the opportunity to pitch it tomorrow night and try to get a team to work with you on it.
If you don't have a business idea, that's also great! Everyone has a unique and valuable skillset to bring to the table and you'll easily make friends and find a group to work with.
We are open to all majors and all ideas. As Cal Poly's largest interdisciplinary club, we can't wait to see what variety of innovation and creativity will come out of this weekend.
You can buy your tickets here. The cost is $45, but you'll eat that much worth of food on the first night alone. We'll be catering for you all weekend long (Old SLO BBQ, Petra...) My deal is, if anyone has a bad time over the course of the weekend, I will personally refund your ticket.
Please reach out if you have any questions. This truly is an opportunity not to be missed and we would love to have you out! Please share with friends, your help is so so appreciated!
