RANT ALERT:

I'm studying engineering. I pay lots of money to learn engineering so that I can use my engineering skills in the real world. I have talked to many engineering students from abroad, and the idea that an engineering student should be mandated to take bullshit courses they could not possibly give less of a shit about blows their minds. CSU seems to justify the obvious scam/money grab by claiming graduates will be more well-rounded. How about a separate option for a degree that is your major support classes only? Why are we complacent with having to take random waste of time classes? My major is limited to only 13 units of tech electives, but there are so many more that I want to take that I can't. These tech electives would be absolutely huge for learning valuable skills employers look for. I also wanted to do a minor, which would have been possible if I didn't have to take so many unrelated BS classes. Obviously the school is a corporation and will never do this because it means less money for them; I'm just wondering what the general consensus on this is. What do you think?
